One is conscious of who he is, based on the path he has traveled, and has come to realize he must walk a Way that will constantly put him to the test to ensure he stays on the right track.
The other believes he has found the Path, yet the very path he has trodden serves only to increasingly narrow the Way that still lies ahead—without him noticing that the Way before him is eroding. If he does not turn back to seek his bearings and continue his journey, the Way will eventually be covered by sand, until it vanishes completely...
